Sonia
An original musical inspired by the life of Sonia and shimon Peres
Featuring The Revolution Orchestra
Conductor: Nir Cohen-shalit / Roy Oppenheim
While Shimon Peres’ life is extensively documented, Sonia Peres remains a lesser-known figure. What kind of woman was she? What role did she play in his professional life, and what toll did it take on their private life? The musical brings Sonia to the forefront, portraying a courageous woman who chose to live away from the spotlight. It sheds light on her intimate relationship with her husband, Shimon Peres. Woven into their story is the narrative of Israel – from the founding of Alumot Kibbutz, navigating the Middle Eastern arms race, to political struggles, peace agreements, and confronting economic and security challenges.
