A performance inspired by Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, composed as a collage of seven “musical pictures”: original works commissioned especially for this production from seven young Israeli composers. Each composition is accompanied by a unique video-art interpretation created in dialogue with the music. Every musical piece draws its inspiration from a different Hebrew text — a single word, a poem, or a biblical passage — serving as the creative source for the composition.
The role of the guide through this “musical museum” is performed by actor and radio personality Jacky Levy, who leads the audience from one musical picture to another on a journey following the Hebrew language.
The performance was originally created for the Hebrew Language Conference 2010 in Rishon LeZion.
