Moods is a groundbreaking stage-musical-movement journey posing a question about the experience of listening to music. Conceived by conductor Roy Oppenheim and composer Zohar Sharon, the piece asks a simple yet profound question: If we could observe our consciousness while listening to music, what would we see?
A journey that commences with a Chopin prelude and finds itself in Radiohead’s ‘Exit Music’.
Unlike conventional orchestral works, in Moods the musicians themselves are in motion. The orchestra becomes a living body, where instrumentalists walk, sway, or dance across the stage as they perform. This staging blurs the line between sound and movement, turning music into a visible, embodied language.
Moods is the second of a trilogy of interdisciplinary rollercoaster shows interweaving the various performing arts with original orchestral music (the first is (E)Motion Without Movement exploring the connection between theater and music). After a successful national run in 2022, Moods also premiered internationally at FITS Sibiu, Romania, in June 2023.
